Ep 12: The Wizard of Oz (Part 1)

We run through the Wizard of Oz. We stay with the original movie as long as we ever have, before going off the rails farther than we ever had.

Jocelyn Vammer – Dorothy

Jon Miller – Tin Man

Pitr Strait – Scarecrow

Andy Hoover – Lion

Paulo Quiros – DM

  1. I really wish this version were the real movie, but I don’t think 30’s special effects could keep up with you guys.

  2. Not that I don’t enjoy the direction the story is going, but I can’t help feeling that we’re getting a glimpse into Paulo’s Wizard of Oz fanfiction. 😉

Wish I didn’t have to wait for the next part. Keep up the good work!

    1. I fully believe that a close-watching of the movie leads to the conclusion that Glinda was up to some stuff. But, hey, even if I was kinda freelancing with some of the political-thriller stuff, it was up to them to find it. And I fully did not expect them to [spoilers] straight-up attack Glinda.

  3. Just so you know, nobody actually can die in the Oz books themselves. When you’re in Oz, you can only be reduced to a state in which you’re incapable of functioning. (i.e. the Wicked Witch of the East is not dead, just trapped forever under the house, the Wicked Witch of the West later comes back, and the Tin Man chopped his arms, legs, and head off while in Oz and his body parts had to be replaced one by one). It would be hard to figure out the logistics of that though so play it as you see fit.

    1. Yeah, for me the movie is cannon and the books are source-material to build from where the movie doesn’t go. In the movie, it is definitely stated that “the witch is dead” and we see her legs curl up and everything, so for the game it’s cannon that you can die in Oz.

      1. Ok cool
I haven’t seen the movie since I was a kid but I still go back and reread the books sometimes so I wasn’t sure what the movie canon was

  4. This was amazing. My heart was actually pounding by the end. I rushed through your Patreon without even looking at the rewards because this was so good.

  5. This is my 4th or 5th time listening through the Wizard of Oz reroll. It is my absolute favourite and I laugh hysterically through the entire thing! Thank you all.
